We are back on Thai mainland. Last week we were still on Koh Samui, but after the football games and decided the rest of the island did not really like to, so it was by catamaran to Ko Tao. After two hours of relaxed Ride, we arrived at the pier of the smallest of the three islands of the Thai Gulf. The first impression of the island was still not particularly impressive, as the island suffers under but large garbage problems. The road conditions are absolutely miserable, however, almost nothing is paved, huge elevation changes and the water-eroded ruts. Radiant Blue Water, surrounded by fine sand and countless palm trees in the background and lots of rocks. Picturesque is an understatement, and so we set it quickly to organize a bungalow that had to have a remarkable view. Equipped with a bed, fan, mosquito net and a little cold shower, we were happier than ever. But in addition to its fantastic appearance, the beach had another advantage: snorkeling and diving.
After only fifteen meters one comes to the first coral and if you do not break at high tide the water is, as we did on the first day, it also has very good visibility and lots of fun. We were then each day at least once a snorkel and discovered numerous Fish and coral species. Dined at the resort was a hotel restaurant, which offered numerous variations of Thai cuisine and a nice place for the evening was. After a few days but then you knew all the other guests (same season) very well, but it was quite boring and slow. Since we had decided against a diving license, there was no further reason to stay longer for us. It then went back up this terrible road and onto the ship that brought us today to Chumphon. Here however, we will only make a night trip, because the city is rather dirty and has little to offer.
