The Lonely Soul By Raphael Armattoe

In Matthis element

It is finished, we covered the impressive distance of 2,200 km from Perth to Broome and thus explored the entire west coast of Australia. For us it was definitely one of the most beautiful regions Australia and a unique experience.
The week began with a trip to Coral Bay, a small fishing village on the Indian Ocean, the starting point of the world famous Ningaloo Marine Park for all water be afraid, these are one of the most spectacular coral reefs of our planet. We had already announced last week, there to swim with whale sharks may be. It unfortunately came to nothing, but what we did instead, is probably similar fascinating. We booked namely, a manta ray tour for a third of the Walhaipreises and moreover there were also a few extras to it.
The whole thing started shortly after nine and after we had selected our snorkel gear, it was also right on deck. Our means of transportation was a two-story, for about 50 people constructed boat, a happiness that participated in our tour just ten men. We were accompanied by a small plane that would make the Rays find for us.
after, a few minutes there was even the first animals, cute dolphins, which we already knew, and therefore only partially aroused our interest. Even after that, nothing new in the West, now and then a few curious turtles the Seegraßfelder plastered, but even that was not highlight of this trip. After that, namely, at last, for the first dive, a very strange feeling when you do not really know what to expect.
In any case, something absolutely fantastic, manta rays, completely peaceful giants of the ocean. Front of us (actually, even us, because one of the beasts roamed me) they were swimming in circles and managed by their mere presence to charm everyone in the water. There were about seven animals, the largest of which came to over 5.50 meters wingspan, so a medium size room filled. We spent several minutes watching them to swim and dive with them. A truly incredible experience that everyone should have personally experienced times. After we got completely paralyzed from the water, the lunch was just right to the seen (and sandwiches) to digest thoroughly.
But that was long past, because the next snorkel was dedicated to a different interesting species of the reef, the sharks. We
the whole, however, survive, could it was not about white or tiger sharks, but its slightly smaller relative, the reef sharks. Reach a maximum length of 2 meters and are with them (rather) seems, however, it is with the little beasts really sexy underwater because the sight is unforgettable in one of three Haimäulern Riffspalte. Although we had vowed after the skate, we had invested the $ 135 is definitely true, but now we were just overwhelmed. The third
Jump into the water could not be topped, of course, was a successful conclusion of the tour. This time we were allowed to explore for an hour on your own the reef. Besides the beautiful coral, there was to marvel at a myriad of unique reef dwellers, whether water snakes, octopus, green fish, yellow fish, sting rays, red fish, colorful fish, pink fish, or just big fish, the sucking up to us because our leaders have class was held, fish food to throw at us. Overall, it was
least a bit grand as the giant Great Barrier Reef, not least to the (comparatively) were few tourists on the west coast.
The evening was then with a few girls moved from Munich, which wanted to book the night before in any case such a trip. This time, however, we had a secret weapon, photos in impressive quality, oh well, we have over 200 underwater photographs of everything I just said, below are excerpts to admire it.
After we had thus contributed our part to tourism, we have continued our journey in good conscience. But however neatly sunburned, so we spent our stay the next day in Roebourne, mainly in the shady pool of the Caravan Park. Then we fell asleep again in a Road House, a sort of roadhouse with camping, because the distances between the places some are a mile long. The Sand Road Fire House was certainly in his own way, just a unique experience. First, with a new record petrol price of 1.71 $, which reminds so slow to German conditions. On the other hand, with bizarre farm flair, the Australian version. Besides horses, geese and cattle were found ostriches, peacocks, lizards and even camels. Interesting was the courting of the male peacock, who could clearly do with his puny tail feathers not even the geese's consolation was a few cookies from us to the battered self-confidence restored. This seemingly idyllic town was in the night, however, the true pit of hell. Captured 39 ° C at nine thirty in the evening, enriched with the typical tropical, humid air. Anyone who ever played football with Doc Schneider thought maybe he knows the completion of transpiration, but that night put the deep in the shadows. Living drying it hits pretty good and if you then no matter how smart travel companion as Matthi on board has to pull him boiling noodles in, the fiasco is perfect.
This new climate change but also the nature, in the vast green plains is otherwise known only from Ireland. Ireland with bouncing kangaroos, pre-car-jumping kangaroos, the Matthi only by a reflex maneuvers kept in front Exitus,
It thus remains for the time being at a bar at the Bull catcher.
Our path led us along the highway to Broome mentioned earlier, at least almost gone. Nearly hundred yards from the town we ran out of gas that is and so we walked happily armed with spare canisters to the gas station, then the whole maneuver Patchi also added there.
Broome is a stylish city, quite the tropical flair. A place where even the Australians touched down dreamy looks and become synonymous with the exotic. We used to Broome to recover from all the driving, because much more was not there, it's still rainy season. That means in plain English, that it's pouring with rain from morning to evening, and billions of mosquitoes on the road. All the fun stops hopefully in early April again, so that we can once again reside outside the van. So much a visit to a crocodile farm, literally in the water, but there was again in the evening a lady visitor. Of course smokers are five in a car at all costs a lot, soon to be seen whether miracle trees can really work wonders.
Today we arrived in Fitzroy Crossing, a town of Kimberley region, the outdoor paradise of Australia. But since we do not have all-wheel drive, it remains at an all-night stopover on the way to Darwin. Otherwise, you had plenty of time change, so we moved up to just six hours on Germany. What the phone seems useful, does have its drawbacks, for now, the sun rises shortly after 18 clock between the dark clouds on the horizon down. We get used to it and hope that we survive the next week or less dry, and then notify us of the capital of the Northern Territory again.
Enjoy the photos!
